![]() ![]() However, this is where the $40 difference makes itself known. A drawback of the DIVE, as pointed out by my co-worker, was that DIVE cannot maintain the Bluetooth signal once underwater. This means SPRINT and DIVE can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Interesting enough is that both JBL Endurance SPRINT and Endurance DIVE are waterproof with an IP rating of IPX7. Regardless, both pairs of earbuds provide a decent amount of sound isolation. That is, they’re not cotton balls in your ears, but they certainly don’t hurt.” They feel about as comfortable as your Speedo goggles. “You just pop them in and turn them until they seal in your ear. I unfortunately didn’t have access to a pool to truly test how the ear tips compare to underwater earplugs, though my co-worked did and described the experience as: The over-ear-hooks are angled and designed with a twist and lock feature that take getting used to, but once properly situated they are very comfortable. The earbud housings and ear tips are the same despite the DIVE’s primary aquatic functions. I tried both of these earbuds outside of water and found that they feel the same. SPRINT’s lighter cable makes sense for a unit that is primarily used for fitness regimens outside of water. Since it is specifically designed for use in the pool and need to stay put while you free dive and open swim. Both units feature soft flex hooks, but Endurance DIVE’s is thicker. However, a closer look reveals a thicker, more durable cable on the JBL DIVE. JBL Endurance DIVE vs SPRINT, What’s the $40 Difference? JBL Endurance DIVE vs SPRINT – Build & DesignĪt first glance, these earphones look very much the same. What makes the $40 difference? Learn more in our JBL Endurance DIVE vs SPRINT comparison review. Also the instructions and controls were very easy to understand/ use. These two new earphones from JBL look nearly identical, but their price tag isn’t. Sound quality is not great, no bass at all. buttonless touch control took some getting used to but I love them! Got them as a gift for Christmas and am taking them back.įalls off ears while running and if you try to adjust them they’re so sensitive, they’ll turn off or continuously skip to the next song. These earphones fit well in my ear, once I got them in. It is frustrating and a huge disappointment. You have to tap and slide the ear piece several times to turn it on. Clear sound, good for phone calls, and no issues with connecting to my phone. The touch controls aren't perfect and the battery life is less than ideal, but I can live with both of those issues. They stay in my ears even on long and sweaty runs. Once I got the right ones and learned how to put them in my ears, they worked like a dream. They come with several ear buds to find the right fit. Wanted this to work, but the swipe-control on the flat side of the earpiece, failed to function.this swipe-touch concealed control, was totally random in performing it’s job. Other pros: lightweight, good BT connectivity. The problem is that all controls (volume, pause, skip etc) are integrated into the earpiece, and any slight touch of the earpiece to adjust fit would inevitably pause or skip my music. These headphones sounded great and generally fit snugly, but would occasionally require adjustment during runs. It's frustrating and causes me to stop my runs or workouts. Will turn off completely if there is sweat contact. Can't change the volume if there's sweat. Everytime I try to fix the connection or wipe the sweat away it pauses the music or changes the song. My sweat goes into my ears and disrupts the connection causing the music volume levels to be inconsistent. The swiping motion for volume control basically doesn't work, because another function is always triggered on the litest first touch. I can't adjust the fit or touch in anyway without triggering a some function, which is particularly annoying when it accidentally hangs up calls. ![]() The downside is that the touch is too sensitive. I notice that the cord will catch on the back of my neck and pull when I turn my head, but it doesn't pull out of my ear. No problems syncing to phone, good sound and good battery life. They’re still great workout headphones! I haven’t tested the water resistant capabilities. It really doesn’t bother me that much since I don’t really need to adjust them very often. ![]() However, I think many of the reviewers exaggerate the sensitivity. I took off one star because, like many of the other reviews say, the touch sensitivity on the right earpiece is really sensitive. They stay securely on your ear so you don’t have to constantly adjust when your working out. I have been using these at the gym for about a month and I love them.
